How can I help?
Having a new baby can make for an exciting, beautiful, and transformative time in your life! And let's be real, it can also make for tired, scared, and uncertain parents.
As a postpartum doula, my goal is to help you and your family create a peaceful, nonjudgmental space of encouragement, learning, and confidence. Some things I can offer to help you through this transitional time are:
Assistance with/introduction to baby-related tasks
Breastfeeding/bottle feeding/milk supply tips
Emotional support and a listening ear
Watching out for physical and emotional postpartum warning signs
Recommending products and techniques for healing and comfort
Sharing information about local and online resources and referrals
Household task assistance
Grocery shopping and meal prep
Running errands
Assistance with older children
Giving you and your partner a break!
And much more!
Through all these acts of care, my goal is to help you feel more confident as a new or evolving parent. If there are other things that will help us reach that goal, please feel free to share them with me! I am here for YOU!
I will also refer you to your health care practitioner when necessary.

Jessica King - Postpartum Doula
In 2005, and on the other side of the country, I began a long and fulfilling career as a professional nanny. Time and again, I found that helping families ease through the transitional postpartum time was some of the most rewarding work I’d experienced.
Deeply inspired to be a part of that, I decided it was time for a career change. In 2017, I completed a Postpartum Doula training course at Natural Resources in San Francisco, and have been actively working towards my certification since.
My hobbies are varied. I have spent many an hour behind the lens of a camera (babies being my cutest of subjects), and on the dance floor as an avid lindy hop swing dancer and local event organizer. I am also a musician in a few local jazz bands, including my own, The Hot Baked Goods. I love to cook, travel, sew, hang with my family and friends, go to the movies with my boyfriend, and learn to play new instruments.
I am excited to meet you and your growing family!
I work with a growing community of doulas in a collective called Doulahood. If you think you’d like to work with me, or want to explore the other types of care we provide, please visit their website here and check out our doula bios.
